Parks and Recreation Update 1/13/23:
Playground equipment, parking improvements, ADA accessibility and additional shelters are all elements that are being investigated for a new area at Fishery Park. Due to unprecedented inflation, and supply chain issues and extensive infrastructure costs, the original park plan designed in 2021 for the Land Parks and Recreation Fund grant has been rejected by the BMA as of 1/9/23. We are diligently working towards a new design and are hopeful construction will be completed this physical year.
Tennis Court improvements through the Project Diabetes grant will begin in the spring of 2023. These improvements include new surfacing, nets, and striping to include two new tennis courts and also pickleball. Lighting and new bleachers will be added in 2024.
The Dry Land Bridge Replacement Project located on the Linear Trail is currently in the Design and Estimating phase. Field Review and Typography Evaluations have been completed. Our goal is to have this construction project completed by the end of 2023.
