Veteran's Memorial Park

Built in 2003 from the support of the community, the Unicoi County Veteran’s Memorial Park honors the men and women from Unicoi County who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The large, stone walls bear the names of these brave individuals who gave their service to our Country. The park also features a large, covered picnic area. The Veteran’s Memorial park is located beside Gentry Stadium along
S. Elm Avenue in Erwin.

Erwin Linear Trail

The Linear Trail (Erwin Greenway) runs parallel to I-26 along North Indian Creek and Nolichucky waterways in Erwin. The greenway was designed by Tysinger Hampton & Partners (TH&P) to help to protect and enhance the environment and provide recreation to the community. The area includes wooded areas, natural ponds, wetlands and mountain views. The challenge was to develop a greenway that provided recreation and protected the few remaining natural areas.

Trails wander around and through the ponds for recreation and fishing and instructional wetlands areas for local school programs. On the paved trails there are hikers, dog walkers, bicyclers, joggers, adults, children and families from the entire region using the trails day and night. In addition, the community has arts and crafts shows and other events in the park. Other amenities include night lighting, restrooms, benches, docks for fishing and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Fishery Park

Erwin’s Fishery Park is located just off the Main Street exit of I-26 in Erwin. The park features a wide range of recreational opportunities for everyone. The park includes a large children’s play area with swing sets; basketball court; two tennis courts; baseball field; swimming pool; several covered picinc areas; duck pond and stream; and indoor restrooms. Whether you’re planning a quick lunch at the park, a family reunion, or a full-day at the park with the kids, Erwin’s Fishery Park is the place to be!
